The New York Times published an article from the consortium of researchers from the Northwestern University, the University of Colorado’s Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, and other institutions to look at the exercise as a possible treatment for the Parkinson’s patients. It discovered that the intense exercise program using the treadmill may substantially slow down the progression of the Parkinson’s disease. It also stated that the patients with the early stages of the Parkinson’s might be able to use this exercise program, and delay use of the medication treatments. Additional studies are planned to confirm these findings.
